Use the court named on the citation, summons, notice, or caption to route the request. New Mexico Case Lookup is a public starting point, but the correct clerk holds the official record.
- A docket sheet: use Case Lookup to locate a permitted public result, then ask the court clerk for the record.
- A court date or setting: check the relevant court-date channel and confirm the setting with the clerk.
- Certified copies: request them from the clerk that maintains the original court file.
- A specific case: search by name or case number through New Mexico Case Lookup, then verify the court location.
- Court records and case files: use the court record search information to identify the correct custodian and request method.
